When company Mtel Banja Luka decided to expand its portfolio and offer to its clients advanced IPTV services, several key challenges were faced. First, it was required to secure that implemented solution operated at any existing user’s device. Everything was included – from the outdated, slow set-top box units to the latest models. The other key challenge was implementation period and selection of reliable partner and solution which could quickly adjust to extremely complexed working conditions. Finally, it was needed to secure system scalability, in order to support further growth of users and devices.
This initiative was of crucial importance and carried the highest priority, enabling Mtel Banja Luka to keep the leading position in providing telecommunication services at local market.
In order to meet all user’s requirements, TeleGroup video technology team created a scalable multiscreen platform, consisting products of nine leading IPTV vendors. The implemented platform is able to distribute high speed multimedia contents, on all user devices simultaneous protecting video contents against piracy. Including a “self-care” portal for channel ordering, end users are provided with, additional packages and services.

All IP transformation

Leading Telecom operator in Serbia had the need to offer to end users modern services of high quality, mainly in domain of fixed-line internet and multimedia. From aspect of business goals, it was necessary to modernize and improve existing network, enabling distribution of IPTV services to all users of fixed telephony. Another challenge was related to connecting of urban users via fiber optic cable, thus enabling extremely high data transmission rates up to 1Gb/s. The basic goal of the current project is to secure that Telekom Srbija keeps its leading position at the local telecommunications market and to increase company value.
TeleGroup has been awarded the works of designing, obtaining building permits and performing civil construction, electrical and mechanical works on fiber optic and copper telecommunications network. Installation of electrical system for power supply of MSAN and IPAN devices was part of the project. Engaging Engineering Department in full, TeleGroup works on modernization of existing copper and construction of the new FTTx network to meet the needs of end users of the most demanding multimedia services in real time.
