The first International Female Students Hackathon in the field of cybersecurity was held successfully
Proud of our team who took the victory
In desire to encourage young women to educate and build their careers in the field of information security, one of the fastest growing branches, we are glad to support and be one of the sponsors of the International Female Students Hakaton which took place online in the period from 12 to 13 May Organized by AFA (global community dedicated to economic empowerment of women through innovation and technology).
Young students, talents from technical, technological and business faculties in Serbia and Switzerland worked for two days on their solutions to the Deepfake challenge. Each team of female students had the support of experienced mentors from our company, but also other technological companies such as Levi9, Cetin, Roche Diagnostics, Microsoft Switzerland, Netlight and Palantir.
After the ceremonial opening by Tatjana Matić, the Minister of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications, Dina Gligorijević, co-founder of TeleGroup system, pointed out that knowledge is power. "If you know and are familiar with data and the field you are dealing with, it doesn't matter if it is uttered by a man or a woman, no one can dispute that, because they are strength and weapon in the fight for your goal", she said.
The innovation of new technologies opens up space for cyberattacks, from which corporations, states and individuals must protect themselves.
The challenge of the hackathon was to detect and prevent the deepfake content. Deepfake combines artificial intelligence and machine learning in order to modify the original image, sound or video content.
The winning team with whom our colleague Kristina Knežević, Head of Program Management, worked as a mentor, proposed a platform that helps to detect deepfake content intended for large corporations. The application is based on blockchain technology and is suggested to be hosted in the cloud. The winning team also commented on data protection and the ways in which compliance with GDPR regulations is ensured.
The winning team, which consisted of Vanja Božić, Dragana Ninković, Nina Krstović and Nina Cojić, was awarded with Huawei MatePad T8 tablets.
Cybersecurity Jobs are currently among the fastest growing jobs in the world, and yet countries around the world lack candidates who possess at least 50% of the skills necessary for working this field.
